#SIWISofa: Water for food - towards sustainable supply chains
For two years Swedish Water house has been working together with Swedish food and beverage companies and retail in a cluster group to improve water management in their supply chains. A guide has been produced, containing tools and standards which can help companies taking the necessary steps towards water stewardship. The guide allows companies to search among the best available water risk assessment tools, certifications, guidelines and reporting tools and to see how they address water quality and quantity aspects as well as other water-related aspects such as biodiversity, climate change adaptation and energy waste.
Water challenges and opportunities related to food production will be discussed and practical tips on how to improve supply chain management provided by:
- Karin Glaumann, SIWI Swedish Water House
- Christian Frutiger, Deputy Head Global Public Affairs, Nestlé
- Maria Smith, Senior Manager Environment & Social Responsibility, ICA Sweden
