Private finance and equitable delivery of WASH services

Building on the success of the sessions on private finance at last year’s meetings, this proposed event will go deeper in discussing how water service providers can transition to accessing more private finance to meet the water financing gap. This year the session will also examine how the additional financing can be better utilized to service all customers. Topics to be discussed include: (1) mechanisms to achieve and measure creditworthiness; (2) the use of credit enhancements to assist service providers access domestic finance; (3) how public finance and concessional loans can be better utilized to leverage and blend with private finance; and (4) how these additional funds can be used to maximize service delivery to all households.
