Convenor(s):
Association of the U.S. Army; Deltares; Global Water Partnership and The World Bank Group

The world is facing major challenges. There is the need to reduce the use of resources and demand by increasing water reuse as both have a significant impact on the welfare of communities and their livelihood activities. The UN calls for inclusive development through the empowerment stakeholders.

The side-event will be an inclusive platform for knowledge sharing on collaborative modelling, and specifically on how to actively involve stakeholders in informed decision making and as a result empower them to reduce and reuse water for securing water for all.

The event is composed of two main sections. The first section will be a space to share knowledge and innovative practices on collaborative modelling for water reduction and reuse that are being implemented worldwide. Three example cases implemented by organizations working at various scales from all around the world will be presented (30 min). An interactive serious game will be used afterwards to provide hands-on experience to the participants on the use of collaborative modelling (30 min). In the second section we will launch the collaborative modelling CoP followed by an interactive roundtable to discuss expectations and concrete steps on how to best move forward (25 min).
