Study Visit: House of Science

We warmly welcome you to take part in the specifically dedicated field visit to House of Science,  (Vetenskapens Hus) on Thursday. The visit will focus on how to involve children and teenagers in science, also introduce and present ways to inspire youth to choose applied sciences. There will be organized some hands on workshops on different themes.
House of Science, (Vetenskapens Hus), is an educational center and it was initiated in 2001 as a collaboration between KTH (Royal Institute of Technology) and Stockholm University.

The main goal of center is to increase young peoples´ interest and knowledge in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) by using relevant themes and age-appropriate hands-on activities

Please note tickets can be picked at the secretariat. There are limited amount of tickets and will be given on a “First come, first serve” basis

Programme

The main purpose for the study visit is to increase young peoples´ interest and knowledge in science, technology and engineering. There will be a chance to try out different relevant themes and age-appropriate hands-on activities.

10:30 Meeting by the Vetenskapens Hus stand (Jubilee Tent).
Ewa Erixson-Carlqvist will met you and follows you in the bus.
10:40   Departure by bus.
11:00   Welcome Opening Remarks and Introduction of the House of Science.
Dr. Marie Danielsson, Lead Developer Technique.
11:30   Hands-on activities:             
Waste management.
Water purification.
12:20 Concluding Remarks:
 Learning by doing, is this the right way of learning nature.
12:30 Departure to the World Water Week.
