#SIWISofa: Indigenous peoples, water and the SDGs

Tuesday 25 August | 09.00-09.30 | Room: Exhibition Hall

Indigenous peoples’ lives and rights are closely linked to an equitable, sustainable and inclusive development. Water is pivotal for the fulfillment of the SDGs and also to lift marginalized groups such as indigenous peoples out of poverty. The Sofa will feature a discussion between the UN Special Rapporteur on the Human Right to Water and Sanitation, Mr. Léo Heller, an Ms. Florence Daguitan from Tebtebba Indigenous Peoples' International Centre for Policy Research and Education.
