Unlocking Finance for Urban Water Reuse and Resilience

Wednesday 30 August | 14.00-15.30 | Room: FH 307

This interactive session will facilitate networking and encourage participants to work together in developing actionable solutions to water utility reuse and financing challenges across policy, data, and information. The session will begin with brief thought-starter presentations from utility leaders representing the Caribbean, Africa, and U.S. on specific water reuse and financing challenges in their regions. Following this introduction, participant groups will discuss similar challenges faced in their field and present one challenge to the room. In response, the audience will be asked to consider how their specific organization could address this challenge and given the opportunity to offer their solution – in the form of an in-kind “gift” – to the individual facing the challenge. Throughout the session, a mobile phone polling program will be used to provide an alternative platform for voicing contributions. In addition to supporting new relationships between organizations, the session will develop a list of concrete actions to address some of the world’s most pressing water reuse and finance challenges.

Gold standard events are committed to ensure the gender balance in speakers/panellists and young professional representation in the session.
