Sanitation and Water for All

Good nutrition and poor sanitation don't mix

Monday 28 August | 15.45-16.15 | Room: Press Room

The WHO estimates that 50% of cases of child undernutrition are the result of repeated diarrhoea and intestinal infections caused by poor sanitation and hygiene conditions or lack of safe water. 12 of the 17 SDGs are directly related to nutrition, so achieving them depends on how nutrition and WASH stakeholders can work better together.

To add to the growing body of evidence that strengthens this link, several governments and international organizations contributed to two new publications that support policy-makers to more efficiently integrate water, sanitation and hygiene into action to end undernutrition.

Gold standard events are committed to ensure the gender balance in speakers/panellists and young professional representation in the session.
