Join the Young SPC

SIWI is looking for the members of the Young Scientific Programme Committe to help develop the programme of the seminars.

The Young Scientific Programme Committee (age 35 and under) is a group of individuals selected each year to support the Scientific Programme Committee. They collaborate with experienced scientists and water professionals, develop the seminars' programme of one of the world’s most renowned water conferences, and gain visibility within the water community. They also add another, important perspective to the Scientific Programme Committee’s work: the young professionals' perspective.

Host an Event

Events are 90 minute sessions which main focus is to advance knowledge and/or present new findings. They often include a discussion or interaction with an audience. SIWI also encourages collaboration with other organizations to build partnerships and bring diverse perspectives to World Water Week.

Event proposals submitted by organizations are selected by SIWI. Once selected, event programmes are developed and managed fully by the organization(s) that submit the proposals.

SIWI welcomes proposals, from all sectors, that expand on topics raised in the thematic scope such as the Agenda 2030, green/grey solutions, diversity, water governance, ecosystem values, human health and ecosystems, financing strategies, industrial perspectives, urbanization and sustainable growth.

SIWI is also interested in receiving proposals that link to previous themes, and/or have a strong focus on current debates, generate new ideas and advance solutions.

Present in a Seminar

Actors from all disciplines who wish to present their research at the seminars during World Water Week are welcome to submit abstracts. Abstracts can be submitted on any subject related to the issues being addressed by the seminars.

Abstract submitted are reviewed and selected by the Scientific Programme Committee. All accepted abstracts will be invited to submit an extended abstract to Water Alternatives, an interdisciplinary journal on water, politics and development.

If an abstract is accepted, at least one author must register and attend World Water Week. Authors must meet their own expenses (registration fee, travel, accommodation, etc.).

Host a Showcase

A Showcase is a space where convenors can tell their water stories, promote different approaches and share their perspectives, initiatives, tools and projects. Convenors can invite perspective partners to a short presentation, or hold a small networking event or launch.

Showcase proposals submitted by organizations are selected by SIWI. Once selected, showcase programmes are developed and managed fully by the organization(s) that submit the proposal.

SIWI welcomes all water/development related showcase proposals.

Host a Field Visit

Field visits are sessions held at unique locations in Stockholm. They are a chance for local convenors to demonstrate practical case studies, initiatives, tools and projects.

Field visits proposals submitted by organizations are selected by SIWI. Once selected, field visit programmes are developed and managed fully by the organization(s) that submit the proposal.

SIWI welcomes all water/development related field visit proposals.

Exhibit at World Water Week

Exhibiting at World Water Week allows you to develop or enhance your brand, engage with water and development decision-makers and present your organization’s water and environment-related work.

The exhibition plays an essential role in offering networking opportunities to participants. We also offer the opportunity to organise cocktail receptions in connection with your stand area. The non-commercial exhibition’s purpose is to share water-related knowledge and experience with participants.

Exhibition proposals submitted by organizations are selected by SIWI.

Host a Sofa

The window into World Water Week is the Sofa, a cross between a speakers’ corner and an interview studio. Broadcasted live beyond the walls of the Week, experts, decision-makers and leaders will be interviewed on a variety of water-related issues.

Sofa proposals submitted by organizations are selected by SIWI. Once selected, the Sofa programmes are developed and managed fully by the organization(s) that submit the proposals (convenors) and a journalist that will do the interviews.

SIWI welcomes all water/development related proposals.

New this year:  the Sofa format which is more social media friendly ( two interviews: one 15 minutes and one 3 minutes)

Become an Assistant

SIWI is looking for the assistant to help during World Water Week.

The Assistants are part of the wider World Water Week team during the conference and become the face of SIWI towards the participants.

Assistant will have the possibility to network, gain professional work experience, and attend some sessions. Assistants dedicate 50% of their time to support the organisation of World Water Week. The other 50% they are free to network and attend sessions.

Assistants receive registration to the Week (including lunch), access to social events, public transportation within Stockholm and endless networking opportunities.

Become a Junior Rapporteur

SIWI is looking for a team of junior rapporteurs (age 35 and under) to help to report on the cross-cutting trends, knowledge and innovations discussed in sessions at World Water Week.

They collaborate with experienced scientists and water professionals, to capture, summarize and analyse the discussions that take place during World Water Week. Junior rapporteurs are instrumental part of the concluding process and also add another, important perspective to it: the young professionals' perspective.

Junior Rapporteurs receive registration to the World Water Week (including lunch), access to social events, public transportation within Stockholm and endless networking opportunities.

Organize a Closed Meeting

As a compliment to the official program of the World Water Week we provide the possibility to arrange your own closed meeting at our venue.

These meetings should have a defined goal, a set agenda, and be aimed at a previously agreed group of participants, for example a committee meeting, an annual meeting, a board meeting, a project initiation, a brainstorming session or similar.

A Press Briefing is a space where convenors can tell their water stories to the journalist attending World Water Week. 

Press Briefing proposals submitted by organizations are selected by SIWI. Once selected, Press Briefings are developed and managed fully by the organization(s) that submit the proposal. Press Briefings are held at World Water Week's press center.

SIWI welcomes all water/development related showcase proposals.
